A long drive in the car today, with a stop on the way for a deliciously refreshing coconut! After arriving in Santo Domingo 4 hours later, we paid a visit to Casa de Luz, a care home for children with intellectual and physical disabilities. For many of us this was deeply impressive and moved us to tears: how the children lie there all twisted, yet are so cheerful and happy to see us. We danced with them, waved flags with them, handed out "Jesus loves you" bracelets, laid hands on all of them, prayed for progress and spoke a blessing. Several of us had a special experience here.

Marlon, and later Harm: I was dancing with my flags for the children and they loved it. After blessing them, my eyes fell on a girl in a wheelchair whose eyes looked angry, depressed and dark. I knelt down beside her, and the carer told me she had no intellectual disability, but had fallen off a roof and could no longer walk as a result. Her family had left her here. My heart broke... this girl does not belong here at all, wasting away among the children with intellectual disabilities. I asked whether I could pray for her, prayed for healing and restoration of her legs and back, and commanded all fear, depression and darkness to leave her life. Then I spoke to her soul that she is beautiful and precious, that she must never think too little of herself, and that in the morning she may get up picturing that she is a superwoman, God's child of the King. After all this I told her that God smiles over her and that she may smile again herself, and there came the smile. The carer told us how I had encouraged her and that she could see hope in her eyes again. Indeed, I saw she had sat up straighter and her eyes were more open; she had hope again.

Later Harm and I went back together to sit with her again, and we found out that her family no longer visited her at all; they had abandoned her completely. Her heart broke completely and deep grief welled up. I immediately began to pray in tongues and she became calm again. Harm received a word for her from God that her parents will come to see her again, which we shared only with the carer. I received a picture of 2 dolphins in the sea: God is going to give her back her freedom so that she can be as free as they are. One last big hug; she was so grateful for everything, because she had hope again. The carer was also truly, deeply grateful, because she saw the change in her. We praise God that He positioned us there specifically to be there for this girl, because she badly needed it.

It is a blessing to be able to be a blessing here!
