A party in heaven
One more short addition....
We heard later that the day after we had been in the 'friendly' prison, there had been a riot among the prisoners!
Four men had been stabbed to death and many were injured.
We had already sensed that there was a battle over making a choice for God. During the service Marien had said: make a choice today, because tomorrow you could have a knife between your ribs.
Once we had first prayed about the battle, 28 people came forward in the end.
A party in heaven
There is no service on the programme today, but God always has a programme for those who want to be used by Him.
Today Malte and Yvonne went to visit their Compassion sponsor child. Together with Pastor Jose they went to San Juan and had a lovely time with the family there.
Pedro, with his wife Magalys and their 2 children, and Wout, Annelies and Marien drove in the bus to their old house and neighbourhood. This is some way outside the town, in the countryside, where you still see small clay houses and woven huts. Pigs and cows roam freely in the yards and on the road.
We stopped at the home of a woman who was the first person to come to faith through Pedro. She said we had come at exactly the right moment, because she was feeling ill. She had trouble with her airways and had been given an injection at the clinic that morning. We talked with her and prayed for her. She clearly felt relief.
Then we drove on towards Haiti. What a beautiful country it is; we drove through the mountains and through riverbeds, to a place where everything was once washed away by a flood. The government has built new little houses for the people there. It really is 'the middle of nowhere'. On top of a small hill stood a little house where a boy of 5 lived.
Daury probably had too little oxygen at birth and has a physical and intellectual disability. Because we went to pray with the boy, the whole family gave their hearts to Jesus: dad, mum and 2 daughters, grandad and an aunt.
We also anointed the house with oil.
God's ways are always higher than our ways.
