A remarkable dream

On Saturday morning we went to the prison in La Romana again. We were taken to the deputy director; he wanted prayer. A guard came too, and we were able to pray for him as well. Then the service began. Marien shared that you must receive God with your whole heart and not with only part of it. He used the example of a man who kept giving God one more part of his house, so that God could not work everywhere.

After Donné had shared something, we gave an invitation for anyone who wanted to make a choice for Jesus, and 26 came forward. We also prayed with many more and were able to hand out Bibles and T-shirts. The time was up and we were more or less dragged away.

As we walked towards the exit very, very slowly, we prayed with one more young man 😂 because we really were not given any extra time. Before we left the prison, Marien received a word of wisdom for a guard; she began to cry, went down on her knees and gave her heart to Jesus.

Then we went to Pedro's house, because someone there really wanted to talk to us. Pedro lives on a plot shared with several other people. Three months earlier this man had seen us in a dream: he saw us sitting and eating together at Pedro's, telling him about God. When we were sitting outside eating at Pedro's a few days ago, he saw us. He recognised us but did not know from where. He had prayed, and then the dream came back to him. He was completely in shock. He had been hesitating about making a choice for Jesus, but even the pastor had not been able to help him. In the end we were able to talk and pray with him, and he made a choice for Jesus. What makes it even more special: three months ago, it was not yet certain for any of us that we would be going on this trip.

After this we drove on to Sosúa, which took 5 hours.
