Saying goodbye to the team
Sunday. After a long journey from San Juan to Santo Domingo we met Hipolito, who took us to church.
The people are very exuberant and the music is so loud that Marien constantly had to cover his ears.
Marien opened with "Arise, shine" from Isaiah 60 and introduced the team. Malte spoke about healing and how God can use anyone for it.
At the invitation for whoever wanted to walk in that fullness, the whole church came forward. We prayed with everyone, and at the end they prayed with us. They were very grateful that we had come and said that life had been breathed into the church again.
After the service we ate and rested at Hipolito's, then went to the airport to say goodbye to each other. We have had a great time in which many people here were changed, and so were we.
Our friend Lionel took the team through customs right up to the gate (he works in airport security). When he came back, Marien and Pedro had to go with him behind the scenes of the airport to pray for his boss and the whole security team. God opens doors where you could never normally go. Then back to where we were staying, stopping on the way for marriage counselling and pastoral care. In the end we were home at midnight. Another day in which God was so tangibly present.
