Founding the Servir foundation

A whole day of waiting at a government agency, from one counter to the next, to set up a foundation for the growing work in the Dominican Republic.

Then back to San Juan, where I am now staying with Pedro Hooi and his family.
They show me the rooster they promised me last year, and they are going to slaughter and cook it for me. They have nothing, yet they give everything away. So servant-hearted and humble; we in the Netherlands could learn a thing or two from that.

Went to Baranca again, a village in the countryside. From the very first houses of the village, word went round that we had come to hand out clothes. It spread through the village like wildfire, and people streamed in from all sides. By now we know many of them, and it is a very warm reunion. I was also asked to come and pray in a little house tucked away at the back, where a woman had narrowly escaped death while giving birth to her little son that night. And so there you are again, in a hut full of people who had come along, praying and blessing at the bedside. What a privilege to dedicate a new life like that and prophesy over it.
